But then again, lifting the cap into place had its scary moments too! The loader wasn't high enough, so I ended up pushing the cap up with a pole. One of the disadvantages of a suspension bridge is the required height of the towers. Ours were nearly 18 feet tall above the foundation, and during construction, the ground level was lower than the top of the foundation. Even the loader had a lot of sway to it as we worked this high above the ground.
