I am from a family of pilots. My Mother, Father, and I are all
Certified Flight Instructors. My two brothers and my sister also
learned a little about flying, we spent a lot of time at airports
and in airplanes as kids! :-)
The first entry in my log book was just after Dad got his CFI. That
entry lists cross country instruction. I was all of 12 years old!
This is a painting of the airplane we owned while I was
learning to fly. It was a Cessna 120. Thanks to the artist, Rodney Vivian,
I can look at it and recall many very fond memories.
Thank you, Rod!
The picture below is my Father (on the left) and the Cessna 402 he flew before he retired. Can you imagine getting paid to have so much fun?
These days, most of our flying is from our airport located on the farm just outside Dad's back door! The airport ID is 1OH9 and is on the Cincinnati Sectional Chart.
We now own a 1956 Cessna 172, seen here landing at our airport. The 172 has the more modern nose wheel instead of a tail wheel. Just when I thought I was all grown up, here I am riding a tricycle again! :-))
